Empirical Modelling and Optimization of Ngbo Pillarred Activated Clay Catalysts using Response Surface Methodology

In this work, Box-Behnken”s Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was applied to study the esterification reaction effectiveness of Ngbo pillarred activated clay catalyst. The monitored based on temperature, time duration, amount reactant, catalyst weight, and particle size. Box--Behnken’s indicates that clay-catalyzed reactions proceed through dual Acid-complex Alcohol-complex mechanisms, with Alcohol mechanism dominating. efficiencies acetic acid ethanol by acid-activated optimized using RSM models indicated estimated percentage ˃99%. predicted experimental values under same conditions showed less than 5% difference, making Box-Behnken design approach an efficient, effective, reliable method for ethanol. produced A-One way ANOVA modelling, which correlation coefficient regression 0.8674, implying 86.74% total variation in attributed variables. result obtained process could be avoid drawbacks corrosion, loss environmental problems.
